Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran call for regional – not ‘foreign’ – settlement

As the Western powers continue to struggle to get agreement on the Iran sanctions issue, news of what is happening on the ground.

Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran sign a joint declaration in Islamabad that calls for a regional – rather than a ‘foreign’ solution to the Afghan conflict – reports the Pakistan Observer.

The significance is in that such a meeting took place and what the joint declaration says.
